Laura Strand

The Language of Mapping

September 7 - October 7

2007

Artist Reception and Gallery Walk September 7

5:30 - 8:00

Special Reception Friday, Sept. 14 5:30 – 8:00

Laura Strand's artwork involves systems of retaining information about the
permanent-but the permanent is always in flux.  Mapping is the most common
form and many maps of the earth are present. Maps, however, include diagrams
of the body and the bodys parts, information about plants and animals,
language about science.  All of those maps and mapping systems form essential
parts of Laura's layered language. .
