Lili Bruer

Lili Bruer’s “Boxscapes” are a series of ceramic wall pieces informed by sensibilities of archictecture.  An architect for twenty years, Bruer's box forms are not replicas of building types, but are minimalist explorations of negative and positive spaces, concave and convex surfaces. Lili applies glazes, stains, and terra sigillatas to each piece.  These works are carefully layered and kiln fired mulitiple times to achieve cohesion and depth.cohesion and depth.
