Artist Statement

"For more than 40 years I have been making straight forward, no frills, wood and salt fired stoneware pottery. My pursuit of excellence has been inspired by exceptional and historical vessels... wherever they may be found. I am especially fond of early Korean and Japanese clay pieces. Lately, through persistence, hard work, trail and error, help from friends and always a bit of luck, I have been getting some fine results from the kilns. Many of my most successful pots appear in this gallery exhibition. I consider myself a most fortunate individual to be able to work in this ancient art form. I hope I am able to continue making pottery til the day I die."
